Patient Rights
Right to Receive Medical Treatment
Patients have the right to receive appropriate medical health services to secure and promote their health and patient’s right shall not be infringed based on gender, age, religion, social status, economical status, etc. Medical staff shall not refuse medical treatment without justification.
Right to Know & Self-Decision
Patients have the rights to receive sufficient information from medical staff about medical expenses and possible outcomes regarding disease status, treatment method, consent of being a subject to medical research, organ transplantation, side effects, etc. and ask for detail. Furthermore, patients have rights to agree or disagree to it.
Right to Have Privacy Protected
Patients shall not be infringed of personal information and physical, health secrets related to medical treatment. Medical staff shall not divulge or announce these information without patient’s consent or authorization from the law for any criminal investigation.
Right to Apply for Consultation & Mediation
Patients have the right to request consultation and mediation to Korean Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency when medical dispute occurs.
The right to receive medical services in a safe medical environment
Patients have the right to receive medical services from medical institutions where their medical information is protected and patient safety is maintained.
Patient Responsibilities
Responsibility to Trust & Respect Medical Staff
Patients should notify their medical related information precisely, trust and respect the treatment plan proposed by medical staff.
Responsibility to Receive Medical Treatment Honestly
Patients should reveal their identity before the treatment, and should not receive the treatment by false or dishonest methods such as treatment with a different person's name.
Responsibility to Protect Public Orders
Patients should protect public orders within the hospital and shall respect convenience of others.
Responsibility of Finance
Patients shall faithfully fulfill the financial obligations signed by the hospital.
