Volunteering is any activity in which services are directly or indirectly provided, based on the free will of the provider, to people, institutions, facilities, or groups in need of assistance without any compensation. It not only promotes personal satisfaction in that it is an act of love in welfare performed with spontaneity and solidarity, but it is also meaningful in that it provides an opportunity to participate in society while learning mutual responsibility, understanding, respect, and perseverance.

Volunteer qualifications
- Those who have completed the basic training for volunteers hosted by this hospital and can participate in volunteer activities 1-2 times a week and all volunteer training and events
- A person who is cooperative with the instructions and intentions of the leader or each team (team leader, deputy team leader), is at peace with other volunteers, and has understanding and tolerance
- Those who are determined to faithfully fulfill all the requirements of the hospital
- Those who are faithful to their family and their own life
- Those who wish to voluntarily donate their time and talent to help others or society
- A person who is warm and sensible, confidential and trustworthy
- A person who is sincere, responsible, and willing to listen to others
Completion of basic training for volunteers is mandatory.

| Hospital guide volunteer | Volunteer work within the hospital includes services at reception desk and guidance on location of medical departments and examination rooms. |
| Hospice Palliative Care Ward volunteer | Volunteers belong to the Hanmaeum Hospice Team and undergo training for a certain period of time. And based on the hospice philosophy, they can visit patients in the palliative care ward at a set time and provide spiritual and physical help. |
